Children's Theatre Club
Based in Old Woking, SIMPLEtheatre Club offers professional training in all aspects of theatre to school-age children. The Saturday afternoon sessions (which lead to a twice-yearly performance) are all designed to promote self-confidence and teamwork, whilst providing all the basic skills.

Weekly workshops
Every week, children of all ages take part in workshops and rehearsals for their twice-yearly production. Each week starts with a warm-up session, where the group is split according to age, before the students begin their rehearsal.
Previous productions have included HONK! Jr., Magic Of The Movies, and various cabarets and variety shows. Our staff are highly experienced and CRB checked, and work alongside our Child Protection Liaison Officer to ensure the safety and well-being of every child.

Performances and Festivals
The children are offered several opportunities to perform every year. Performances may take the form of a private showcase for friends and family, taking part in a public performance with other groups, or joining forces with SIMPLEtheatre's amateur dramatics company in large scale productions. Performing in front of an audience gives the children a real sense of responsibility, with everyone working together to produce work of a very high standard. In 2008 we will also be performing at Drama Festivals across Surrey.

Exams
| |
Once a year, the students are given the opportunity to take exams in Musical Theatre. There is no obligation for anyone to take an exam, but we have found that those who do take part have an increased sense of confidence and self-worth when the results come through. Our chosen examining board is the London College of Music, whose examinations are accredited by the QCA, and are directly administered by Thames Valley University. Passes at the higher grades provide candidates with extra UCAS points towards their university entry. We can boast an impressive 100% pass rate, and so will be adding optional Drama exams to our curriculum soon.
